Software and Electronic Media
There are restrictions on what types of software you can sell on Trader Pakistan. Some types of software are illegal to sell, others require permission. Sales of items delivered electronically are also limited at Trader Pakistan.
Permitted Items
- 3 month Xbox live
- 12 month gift card to Netflix
- An actual CD with the original version of software such as Photoshop
Allowed With Restrictions
- Academic software may only be sold by authorized resellers of educational materials, an educational institution, or a member of a faculty
- OEM software (Original Equipment Manufacturer, software acquired as part of the purchase of a new computer) as long as it is advertised along with complete and functioning hardware
- Software (e.g., product keys), as long as you have permission from the rights holder to sell the product digitally
- Software advertised by an authorized reseller that has rights to online distribution
Unauthorized Items
- Beta, test and evaluation copies as well as software versions
- Software, freeware and distribution programs on recordable media, such as CD-R discs
- Game accounts, game characters, game currency, virtual objects and invitations to games and other online services
Reason For The Rule
With this rule, we want to help our members comply with the laws and regulations that exist when selling software and electronic media. The sale of these goods may also harm Trader and its members. Therefore, there are restrictions on selling such products on Trader Pakistan.
