Misleading Headings and Item Descriptions

Brands and names need to have a clear connection to the item you are selling.

Permitted Items

  • To enter in the title or description the actual brand to describe its object
  • To indicate in the pictures and description the actual properties of the goods such as condition, size and color
  • Use images from a webshop with permission from the copyright owner

Unauthorized Items

  • To print trademarks or names in the description that you sell in other ads
  • Writing headlines and descriptions that are otherwise misleading or do not describe the item being sold correctly
  • To use other brands or names to describe their product
  • Using other members’ images without permission

Reason For The Rule

For example, if a buyer searches for “Adidas” and gets ads where a seller has written “shoes that are similar to Adidas” then this gives misleading search results and a degraded search experience. It can also create problems for the seller because the buyer can expect to get a different item from what the seller is actually selling.

Using unauthorized images means that the seller infringes someone else’s copyright.
