The leading Danish shipping company Maersk has introduced a $2 billion investment plan in Pakistan.
Shipping company Maersk and Karachi Port Trust will sign a memorandum of understanding this month, after which Danish shipping company Maersk will invest 2 billion dollars in port and transport infrastructure in Pakistan in 2 years.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Sheikh said that the sales tax on processing plants, fishery seeds and feed in the maritime sector has been abolished, land will be provided for building processing plants for marine exports.
The Federal Minister further said that the Ministry of Maritime Affairs is providing a favorable environment and the business community must also play an active role, this initiative of SIFC is a reflection of the progress in the maritime and transport sector of Pakistan.
